A trip to the Dolac

Autumn is hanging on as tightly as it can. After weeks and weeks of dreary rain, the sun has been persistently shining on Zagreb. It’s the perfect weather to head to the Dolac market for groceries.

I wish I had the remotest bit of talent to show you how beautiful, wonderful, exciting, fascinating and gorgeous the Dolac is. But alas, all I can do is tell you that if you ever find yourself in Zagreb on a beautiful sunny day you should go to the Dolac – talk to the locals, try some fruit, buy a fish, flirt with the cheese ladies and banter with a butcher.

As we usually do, we stopped for a beer… or two… in our favourite little ćevapi bar, Buffet Jelsa. Because that’s the BEST way to get your groceries done.

Lest you fear the Dolac is all food and beer (woohoo! FOOD AND BEER!) – oh no, you can also find your fill of souvenirs.

This was our haul for the day. Not bad for around 100 kuna 🙂
