Over on her blog, Natalie Bowers has an interesting project going. She invites readers to write a story based on the last line of another story.
The first week, writers had to use the last line of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
He was soon borne away by the waves and lost in darkness and distance.
@voimaoy won with her story of a returned astronaut, whose “eyes are full of the things he’s seen, his mouth is full of stories”. As the winner, @voimaoy’s last line provided the prompt for the next story, and so it will go on.
I was pleased that my flash “The Last of the Battle Queens” won week 2, and you can read it here.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more writing to do.
